Thanks for everyone who tried out for the Fremont Golf team this year. I was very pleased with the talent that came to the first two days. All of you have flashes of being good, but some of you aren’t quite ready for high school golf. Making cuts is a very difficult thing to do as a coach, and this year was especially tough because of the talent level of so many of you. Fremont golf is on the rise and therefore making the team is going to become tougher and tougher.
If you see your name on the list, congratulations. I will be sending an email later tonight with tomorrow’s tee times. There will be a final cut after tomorrow’s round. If your name is not on the list, don’t get discouraged. Keep getting better and practice, practice, practice. Use it to fuel you and come back next year better and ready to go. The best thing to do to get ready for high school golf and the pressure of it, is to play in as many PGA Juniors events during the summer as you can. There isn’t many other ways to prepare for the pressure of what you experience at tryouts and high school matches.
