Wolves News · Fremont Claims 3 State Titles


Both the boys and girls wrestling finished their state tournaments, and both teams performed very well at State. On the boys side, both Mason Denton and Kolton Kammeyer won the state title, while Mason Denton was voted 6A outstanding wrestler. Other placers were included 2 freshman phenoms in Corbin Platt (3rd) and Cal Christiansen (4th). Cole Sederholm and Weston Warr also placed 5th, while the team finished 6th overall.

Savhanna Valentine led the charge for the lady wolves, finishing 1st in state, and becoming the school’s first ever state champion on the girls side. Other placers included two sophomore stars in Haley Ericksen (2nd) and Brooke Handley (4th).

The boys qualified 15 wrestlers this year for the state championships, and the entire team is back next year. Bryden Knight, Khegan Tarkalson, and KJ VanUitert just missed the podium this year, and will be back next season ready to avenge the blood round loss.

The girls qualified all 5 to the state championships this year, and placed 3 of the 5. Mikayla Arrington just missed the podium this year, and Gabby Arnold just came up short, but will battle back next season to reach the podium at the state championships.
