Last Thursday, the wolves would finish the first half of their region play with a very windy game at home against Northridge. It would begin with Northridge holding the wolves in their defensive half for the first 15 minutes. It was at that point when the wolves began to make their move into the Knights defensive half and a great touch ball from Korben Corgiat to Parker Huff where he blasted a shot by Northridge’s keeper to give the wolves a 1-0 lead. Shortly after that, Parker sent a corner into the 6 yard box where Alec Ferrin headed it into the back of the net to provide the wolves a 2-0 lead. Right before the half Conner Woodyatt sent a ball into the box where Alec Ferrin headed the ball but it deflected off of a defender right to Kofi Herrick where he placed a left footed volley into the goal and the half ended with a 3-0 lead.
The second half we had the wind at our back, but it proved a little hard on the offensive end. But in the 72nd minute, Austin Freeman switched the ball and Alec Ferrin made a terrific play keeping the ball in play and that’s where Talon Smith grabbed the ball, dribbled by a few players and took a shot and it bounced off of the crossbar and he didn’t quit, grabbed the ball and as it was in the air did a half bicycle kick by the keeper to give the wolves a 4-0 cushion. That’s how the game would end giving Preston Taylor a shutout and more importantly a win for the wolves. There next region game will be at Mtn Crest on Thursday, May 20th.
