fremont vs. mt crest wrestling

In what likely played out to be the region championship match Wednesday evening, the Silverwolves held off the Mustangs in a thrilling win. Jacob Shaffer secured the win for the wolves with a first round pin over his Mt. Crest opponent in the last match of the evening. In a dual that saw 12+ individually ranked wrestlers, the Wolves didn’t disappoint as they beat Mt. Crest head to head for the first time in school history. Wins came from freshman stand outs Mason Denton and Brayden Clark, both picking up bonus points. Seniors Korben Hayes and Hunter Anderson got the momentum going with 2 pins back to back to jump start the wolves to 12-0 early lead. Tayton Bennett and Kegan Leatherow remained unbeaten as well as they both pinned their Mt. crest opponents.  Next Thursday at Fremont, the Wolves will look to win the title outright as they face the Northridge Knights for the Wolves last home dual of the season.
