Fremont gets tough victory at Mountain Crest

As the day began it was cloudy, then a lot of rain making today’s game a very wet and cold game.  However, luckily the Soccer gods gave the Varsity team a little dryness during the game when the rain stopped falling.  That’s when the game began and Mountain Crest came out pressing and being physical right from the start.  However, Austin Freeman got a head on the ball on a set piece taken by Tayden Gibson and put it past the keeper, but unfortunately was called offside.  But 8 minutes later, Kofi Herrick found an open Porter Meyerhoffer and passed it to the middle of the field and thanks to a smart dummy by Alec Ferrin, Porter was able to slot the ball away and give the wolves a 1-0 lead going into halftime.  The game would get even more physical with some yellow cards and some yelling between benches.  Fremont would keep the lead and the 1-0 win with great saves from Preston Taylor.

The JV team would also avenge a loss earlier in the season with a 2-1 victory in very wet weather that picked up following the Varsity game.  Congratulations to both teams.  They both play this Tuesday at home against Clearfield.
